Chapter 501's Robert Menier receives
FAA's Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award.

October 9, 2010: Dedication of plaque marking the spot in Pompton
Plains where Reaction Motors built and tested the rocket motor that
powered Chuck Yeager and the X-1 past the sound barrier in 1947.
July 31, 2009 Bergen Record: "Very big blast from the past",
Pequannock Township secures funding for Yeager's X-1 rocket engine
commemorative marker.
Scroll through a 26 page slide show Chapter 501 did
in 2009 for the Pequannock Township Historic District Preservation Commission,
disk copies of which were distributed to local organizations
who might volunteer to donate cash to pay for a bronze plaque
planned be located along West Parkway commemorating the location where
Reaction Motors, Inc. built and tested rocket motors, one of which
powered Chuck Yeager and the X-1 past the sound barrier in 1947.
February 2011: Rocket plane Gloria revisits Greenwood Lake on 75th
anniversary of flights across the ice from New York to New Jersey.
June 2011: Suburban Trends history columnist salutes EAA Chapter 501
on the 20th anniversary (June 9th) of the completion of the restoration
of the Gloria Rocket Plane for display at the New Jersey Aviation
Hall of Fame and Museum.
September 2015: Back to School edition of Wayne Magazine
carries one page article (page 20) highlighting EAA Chapter 501's
"Kids fly free" Young Eagles Flight Rallies.
December 30, 2010 Wayne Today: "Local pilots help young people
discover flight through Eagles program" (Greg Dwyer and Dick
Wedemeyer have each flown over 100 Young Eagles.)
February 9, 2010 Daily Record: Aero Safety Training, Ltd, aims for
prize in Feb. 17 Amex Houston business contest.
March 7, 2010 Bergen Record: Linda Scully's Aero Safety Training,
Ltd. is among ten winners of Amex womens' business contest.
